A smart contract is a “computerized transaction protocol that executes the terms of a contract”. It is intended to contribute, verify or implement the negotiation of a contract, allowing the participants the trustworthy performance of transactions while avoiding the intervention of third parties. Smart contracts use all the benefits that blockchain technology provides: traceability, transaction’s integrity, decentralization, security, economy and speed.
